Here is a video of some jet planes landing in winds that are coming from the sideways instead of front on like they usually do. I hope it will work on your computer. You will need Windows Media Player. It is 3MB big and written in Portuguese!

I think I would have been really scared to be on these planes when they landed. The pilots need to be very skillful.

Using 'Just in time learning' I worked out- sort of- what the words mean- It is not everyday that we can find calm winds. What can you do in these situations? You fly! You remember the safe landings!
