Welcome to our Moturoa Class Wiki!
The use of our wiki has now come to a close. It has been an excellent learning experience for me and I know that children have enjoyed being able to have their say on the internet. It involved quite amount of my time setting it up and monitoring it on a daily basis as I had no-one to learn off and I had to teach myself. I am sure a second attempt would take less time. Flight as a topic lent itself to the use of a wiki and I am sure to give it another go with another topic when time allows. Miss K

Greg Carroll's ICT Blog has listed our wiki on his widely read educational blog. If you are a visitor from other parts of the world please feel free to add a comment in the comments section on this page. We would love to know where you are.
We really enjoyed our trip to the Nelson Aeroclub and Helicopters NZ today. Actually seeing the planes close up helped us understand how they are built and what a plane needs to have to generate lift. That Bernoulli's principal is the key to it all I think. But there is so much to know about when you want to learn to pilot a plane yourself. Imagine being able to pilot a plane when you are only ten years old. Miss K

Have a look for the cool slideshow that Wakefield School has added to the wiki on the Appleby / Wakefield Links page.
Look - a new photo page has been added so we can view Appleby's airport excursion

Miss K. I worked out how the mine reader can tell the number. We put a book in front of the crystle ball and it didn't get the number right!! So cover the ball and it won't guess right. It must have a little camera in it. By Maddi.

I think your maths might have been a bit dodgy. Did it work when you tried it again with book over it?
